In addition to it all, I even get to stare at this living in such a beautiful city.  From now on, my whining will be limited to dining only.

A Companion To The Doctor’s Companions: Wilfred Mott

The savage irony for the Tenth Doctor is that Wilfred Mott (played by Bernard Cribbins), grandfather of Donna Noble and starstruck fan of the Doctor and all of his works, is not only the exception to the rule, but the fate-sealing proof of it too.
We first encounter Wilfred as a newspaper seller in an abandoned London in Voyage of the Damned. His role was intended originally to be just a one-off, but when the actor playing Donna’s father became ill, steps were taken to re-introduce Wilf as her grandfather. Necessity being the mother of invention, this excitable, star-gazing allotment-dweller soon became a firm favorite.

To Whom It May Concern Re: Kony/Uganda/LRA & Invisible Children

I truly appreciate that there is additional information out there regarding the Invisible Children organization in light of the group’s sudden burst of visibility, if you will (womp womp). I’m glad that I can learn more to make a truly informed decision regarding donations and activism toward the Kony/LRA/Uganda situation.

However! Please, please, please, I IMPLORE you not to share this information in a way that shames people who are just becoming aware of Kony. I have repeatedly seen inspired posts, reposts, statuses, tweets, and general calls to action today getting shot down in a very negative way by those sharing seemingly unfavorable information about Invisible Children.

I don’t know enough about this matter at this point to make a solid call about who is “right” and what the exact right way is to proceed if you’re someone who is interested in this cause. But I’m seeing a truly beautiful phenomenon right now, where mass awareness and focus on a really important problem is spreading rapidly, and that is NOT EVER a bad thing.

Don’t accuse people of being bandwagon jumpers or just “wanting to appear socially conscious on their newsfeed.” That’s an exact quote I saw today, and that is not okay.

It’s good to know all the facts. It’s good to share facts. But watch how you’re doing it. Don’t shame inspired people and consequently stop the flow we have going here.

Add information; don’t add negativity.
