I just really, really wish “Don’t Sit Down” by Bowie was a full song.

Oldies Supermix Volume 2
About a year and a half ago, I made an Oldies Supermix that knocked everyone’s socks off who had the pleasure of hearing it. I have cherished that mix CD. If I could marry a mix CD, that would be the one. That’s how I feel about that CD: holy matrimony.
After listening to the Oldies Supermix at least five times in a row today, I decided it was time to take the next step: Oldies...
Okay.
I am going to go make a fresh pot of coffee.
Then, I am going to get productive.
I am mercifully alone in the office for at least the next two hours, so I should be able to get some damned work done.
Seriously, self. Get on it.
It's a perfect day for bananafish
My Salinger memories aren’t grandiose, but they’re very meaningful to me. I’ve always been fond of simple words, phrases, and exchanges in his works. That’s what stuck with me.
Off the top of my head:
- Ackley kid
- Goddamn prince
- Roller-skate skinny
- Mrs. Glass insistently calling the washcloth a “washrag” and pissing Zooey off
- Mr. Spencer’s...
I could listen to “Tender” by Blur on repeat a million times. I frequently do.
Same for “Life on Mars?” by Bowie. Maybe I just need a mix cd of only these two songs.
I’ve spent all morning reading about shadow people.
Why do I love scaring myself?

I’m with you, Marie. This is one of those situations where litigation is being used for monetary gain rather than to right a wrong. A fat hush-up settlement check from a corporation isn’t going to make this situation un-happen. Pressing charges is sufficient in this situation. It’s a criminal matter, not a civil case.
I want to open a savings account here in Athens. Bank suggestions?
G-chat
me: well, i’m having a weird morning.

Stephanie: hahahahah were you just shopping?

TMI TIME
I never thought I had the one-boob-slightly-bigger-than-the-other thing going on… but I think I’ve noticed a discrepancy. And now I’m going to obsess about it.
I simply must go beach camping again this summer.
What music should I download today?
Boredom
When I used to be depressed, being bored at least felt justified. Malaise, discontent, restlessness - I loved it, in a way. It seemed very romantic and noble. I guess I thought it was my lot in life. Even though it was a drag to feel that way all the time, I think we’re all more comfortable with a condition when we feel that it’s our “lot in life.”
Years later, now...
Time Bandits? That’s an old movie. I saw that back when I still had...
– My dad, when I told him about the free movie last night. My Tumblr is turning into “Shit My Dad Says” part deux.

I donated to Partners In Health for earthquake relief. Can you?
Well, here’s where that came from… If you were way out in a cotton...

I have a really bad habit of just not peeing when I need to. I just went to the bathroom and realized that I’d been holding it for, like, 4 hours. Just because I couldn’t be bothered to stop what I was doing and go pee.
This can’t be good.
I am officially an Etsy seller.
I made my first sale overnight, within 24 hours of my first listing.
Yes… I am tooting my own horn.
Crushes are fun.
Well, Gloria, EVERYONE loves Owen Wilson.
– My dad, to my mom, while watching “Night At The Museum.” I had no idea my dad was such a fan…
I'm allowing myself a vindictive moment...
Living well IS the best revenge, especially when you run into your evil ex and he looks like he never sleeps anymore.

Reading about the rise and fall of [now-defunct] restaurants I remember from my childhood makes me really, really sad, yet I’m also fascinated by it. A couple more are Mighty Casey’s and Chi-Chi’s (which I never actually went to but I remember it existing - love the ridiculous logo). Does anyone remember any more?
This “wintry mix” needs to man up.

I’ve always been a cold weather wuss, but it just gets worse every year. I used to think I could never conceive of moving to Florida because everyone there is weird, but now I’m starting to rethink that.
Particularly if I could move here. Warm climate, town full of psychic old people? Sign me up, plz.
Some of my absolute favorite people are ones that I initially disliked, discounted, or thought I had nothing in common with. It’s always such a lesson when that happens, and I implore others not to place too much significance on their first impressions. First impressions are usually based on crap that doesn’t matter, or maybe even things that matter a little but we tend to let weigh...
My tolerance for cold weather ends on December 26th each year, just FYI.
First band listened to for the decade: ABBA.
